Now tell me....

Hi mom! Do you notice me laying here next to you?

I am getting tired of watching you take pictures with that new camera! You and your new toy. I think I have been replaced!

I really, really mean it....PAY ATTENTION TO ME! ...or I am going to cry!
I am having way to much fun with this new camera. My old camera was a dinasour compared to this one. It is rated as being the closest to an SLR that you can get. 50X zoom really will help me when I am taking pictures of birds and things in the distance. I am so happy with it and I have only had it since monday. I still have al lot to learn about aperture. and all the other things that I can do to challenge myself in photography. So far I haven't used the auto setting. This Sat. I want to go to a kite flying event (if it doesn't rain) and try some new ways to use the camera.
Any one else get so excited about new things? But it did take me a long time to get a better camera. Hugs, Teresa

Very pretty sky tonight!

The skys were so pretty tonight that we jumped in the car and buzzed up to the airport to get some pictures.Too many trees where i live to get good shots. Luckily the airport is only about 5 minutes away as it wouldn't last long! It was such a nice pale pink at first.

Then it turned into more pinks and yellows.

A kittle grey started to show it's self.

a little more dark pink with grey!

I think it is almost over for the pink color!

The pink is getting push down into the ground. until it all went dark. What a wonderful sight this was!! I know that this looks more like a prision with the barbed wire. They are going to make sure that no one gets onto the runways. OUCH!!! I usually don't get to see the sunset as I work evenings. So this was a real treat tonight! I tried to get a picture of the super moon (very orange because of the moisture in the air) But my camera is acting up and wouldn't let me take a picture of that. Probably because the lighting was too dark. My camera is having major problems! Something makes a loud snapping noise when I press the button. Sounds like an electrical short.
So today we bought a new camera. A Canon Power Shot Sx50 HS (digital, not DSLR)
I think I am really going to like this one. It has a view finder (which should come in handy on sunny days)  plus the LCD monitor on the back. The LCD monitor on the back swivels to the side and up and down for different angles, or forward in case you want to include yourself in the scene.  We had this feature before and liked it. We have to put it into the computor and do a few other things before I can use it though. We lucked out as it was on sale on the stores website. We got it for that price and with what we saved it paid for the card and an extra battery. I really have to study this camera as there is a lot you can do with it. Plus the LONG zoom will be great! It will be so nice to have a camera that works....all the time. Does any one use a filter on their lens. What kind? Polerizing? I had one long ago. but can't remember what it was.
Have a great week everyone. Hugs, Teresa

My world in color (plants)

Prairie smoke. It will get seed pods that look like smoke.

Eye Of Newt iris. I love the rich colors.

Kinshy tree peony The burgony throat is such a nice contrast to the bright yellow.
Shimanishiki tree peony

Shimadaijin Tree peony. This one is MUCH more purple in person.

Kinkaku tree peony. This one can be this color or a double apricot/orange. We were hoping for the apricot/orange. But it is pretty. This is the first year it bloomed, so who knows what next year will bring. It kind of looks like a single petaled Kinshy (photo above).
Earnest Markham clematis.
Megabucks iris. (Gorgeous colors) in front of a lupine.
I wish I could get a picture of just how black this one looks in the garden! Such a deep maroon!
Dwarf black iris. Parts of this one look just like velvet. This one is chrvsographes.
Piilu clematis  this one is new to us. Love it!
I took this picture Sat. morning. The plants around the pond are filling in so nicely now.
A side view of our backyard. These beds are very deep. I am thinking of a way that I can get more of the yard in one shot. Neighbors roof would do it. But I really don't think they would let me climb up there. lol. ut hopefully this gives you an idea of what we have done in landscaping. Front yard beds are huge also. I think we are obsessed with plants!
Thank you for taking a little walk around our gardens. Hugs, Teresa
