Took a little trip today!

We went to the Paine Mansion today for The Nutcracker At The Paine. This is Jeff and I standing in front of the very TALL Christmas tree. You can see part of the 6 musicians to the right. Very pretty room and beautiful music.
A lot of the trees had nutcrackers for decorations.
This was when we first walked in. Huge candy canes really made this tree a favorite. There were only 2 rooms that we could take pictures in. I wish I could share more from the other rooms. Fantastic trees. The mansion was so festive!
As you can see the room was very big. The mansion has many kinds of wood trim, doors. The original owners owned a huge lumber yard. They never lived in the house. The owner died before it was finished and his wife couldn't stand to live in it after he died.

Looks like the giant nutcracker is about to attack the dollhouse! lol. The nutcracker is about 5 feet tall.
This fireplace is HUGE! You should see the logs!
Our guide. The toy maker. He told us the Nutcracker story. He was very animated. He made the story come alive.
Paine Mansion. Oshkosh Wisconsin. I wish I could have taken more pictures. The woodwork, staircase, stonework inside is fantastic!
As you can see we received our first measurable snow for the year. 3.4 inches by 10pm.
It was so nice to get out today. Hugs, Teresa

  1. What a wonderful excursion you took me on. That was one impressive doll house. So sad that the widow couldn't bring herself to live in the house. I suppose it was a house/mansion, never a home to her. Thank you. I am sooooo jealous about the snow.
